Praxis Remote is the companion app for controlling Praxis from your phone while staying away from your computer. It is designed for rehearsal rooms, stage prep, worship setups, and any workflow where you need hands-off transport and queue navigation.

Connection Basics

  • Launch Praxis on desktop first, then open Praxis Remote.
  • When connected, Remote mirrors Praxis state (library selection, queue context, and player status).
  • If not connected, Remote shows a dedicated waiting screen until Praxis is available.

What You Can Control

  • Play/Pause, Previous/Next, and skip controls.
  • Scrubber position and queue navigation.
  • Master volume, speed, gain, and repeat.
  • Library browsing and song selection.

Library Sync Behavior

Praxis and Praxis Remote sync selection state in both directions:

  • Selecting a folder/playlist/tag in Praxis updates Remote.
  • Selecting from Remote updates Praxis.
  • Filter state is synchronized so both views stay aligned.

Top-Level Navigation

The back button is context-aware in Remote:

  • Shown when you can navigate up from the current view.
  • Hidden at top-level library root where no higher level exists.

Practical Use Tips

  • Use Remote for transport control while standing away from your workstation.
  • Set your player output and per-device volume in Praxis before rehearsal runs.
  • Use Remote queue controls to move through songs without touching the desktop.

Troubleshooting

  • If songs are not visible immediately after a selection change, wait for loading to complete.
  • If state looks stale, reconnect Remote and verify Praxis is on the expected library view.
  • If transport does not respond, confirm Praxis is in Player context and not blocked by modal dialogs.
