- leave room for the larger groups that need more flexibility
Reading The Board
When you scan a board, look for:
- numbers with very few adjacent matches
- numbers trapped by borders or other clusters
- groups that can only grow in one direction
- tiles that might belong to more than one cluster if you wait too long
The earlier you spot those bottlenecks, the fewer dead ends you will create.
Daily Versus Journey
Daily
Daily puzzles are best when you want a quick, focused session.

Journey is better when you want to settle in and play a longer run.

- boards can teach you new solving patterns
- it is a good place to practice with hints turned off or limited
Using Hints Well
Hints work best when they change your perspective, not when they do the whole puzzle for you.
- use one after you have checked the obvious placements
- compare the hinted move to the choices you already considered
- keep an eye on whether the hint suggests a new cluster boundary or just confirms one
Solving Cleanly
If you want to improve, try solving with these habits:
- Build the smallest guaranteed clusters first.
- Revisit the board after each placement.
- Watch for numbers that suddenly become constrained.
- Stop and re-evaluate before you start chaining guesses together.
