Tap-tempo tips
- Tap a steady beat at least three or four times for a more stable result.
- After a long pause, the next tap starts a new measurement.
- Use Clear when you want to discard the current sequence immediately.
- Use Set Exact or the adjustment controls when you already know the target BPM.
- When the display changes color and shows Locked, use Clear to begin a new measurement.
- Open Settings and choose Getting Started to replay the visual walkthrough.
MIDI Clock troubleshooting
- Connect and configure the USB, Bluetooth, hardware, virtual, or network MIDI destination in iOS or iPadOS first.
- Open the MIDI destination picker in Tempo Tapper and tap Refresh.
- All connected destinations are selected automatically. Open the destination picker to opt out any device that should not receive clock.
- Start begins a new MIDI transport sequence; Continue resumes without returning to the start.
- Confirm the receiving device is configured to follow external MIDI Clock.
- Check physical connections, adapters, Bluetooth pairing, and the receiving device's MIDI settings.
Tempo Tapper transmits standard MIDI Clock at 24 PPQN. It does not transmit notes, program changes, or a MIDI sequence.
