Tempo Tapper Privacy Policy

How Tempo Tapper handles preferences, MIDI connections, and personal data.

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Tempo Tapper is designed to work without collecting personal information.

Data collection

Tempo Tapper does not collect, store, sell, or share personal data. The app includes no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking technology, account system, or developer-operated server connection.

Information stored on your device

The app stores preferences such as the selected theme and app icon, haptic feedback, decimal BPM display, reset timing, visual pulse, screen-awake behavior, MIDI availability, and selected MIDI destination identifiers using Apple's local preferences system. These settings remain on your device unless iOS or iPadOS includes them in a device backup.

To restore your session, Tempo Tapper also stores the last calculated BPM, recent tap intervals, tap count, stability, and lock state locally. Tap timing and calculated tempo values are not uploaded.

MIDI

Tempo Tapper uses Apple's CoreMIDI framework to show destinations exposed by the operating system and to send MIDI Clock only when you start it. MIDI Clock may be sent to hardware, Bluetooth, virtual, USB, or network destinations that you select and configure. Tempo Tapper does not send MIDI data to Snake Johns.

Permissions

Tempo Tapper does not require microphone, camera, contacts, location, or advertising-tracking access. System-provided MIDI connectivity may depend on devices or network MIDI sessions that you configure outside the app.
