SetupSmith works without an account and does not collect data from the app for the developer.
Microphone and pitch analysis
SetupSmith requests microphone permission when you use tuning features. It processes microphone or audio-interface input on your iPhone or iPad to estimate pitch. Audio is not recorded, saved or sent to Snake Johns or a third party. You can change microphone permission in your device’s Settings.
Information stored on your device
Instrument configurations, tuning, measurements, measurement frets, captured pitch frequencies, setup notes, saved setups and preferences are stored locally. Captured pitch frequencies are numeric measurements, not audio recordings. Your operating system may include app data in device backups according to your device and account settings.
Backups you choose to export
Export Backup writes a JSON file containing saved setups and any unfinished setup to a location you choose in Apple’s Files interface. That location may be on the device or managed by a cloud storage provider you use. SetupSmith does not upload a backup to a developer-operated service. If you share an exported file, it can contain setup names and notes you entered. Keep it somewhere appropriate for that information.
Advertising and tracking
SetupSmith includes no advertising SDK, analytics SDK or tracking technology. Snake Johns does not sell or share app data.
Deletion
Delete saved setups in the app or discard unfinished work. Undo can restore the most recently deleted saved setup during the current app run. Removing the app removes its local app data from that device. Exported files and operating-system backups are managed separately through Files and your backup settings.
External links and support
If you open a help link, your browser visits the selected website, which has its own privacy practices. If you email support, the information you choose to send is used to answer your request.
